Salute to 303 Women Masons on a Mission to Re-build Kerala

Bal Raksha Bharat’s Recovery and Rehabilitation Work in Kerala seeks to empower 303 trained women masons of Alappuzha district and also providing them with a platform to be the first responders in Emergency Response Programme.

At an event held on 1st March 2019 in Alappuzha District; Bal Raksha Bharat along with Ramoji Films and UNDP were felicitated by the Hon’ble Minister of Finance; Dr T.M. Thomas Issac and Shri. A  C Moidheen (Hon. LSG Minister). This was part of our collaborative work with District Administration, Kudumbashree and Bal Raksha Bharat under “I am For Alleppey”. There were other dignitaries present at the event.

Mr HariKishore (IAS); Executive Director, Kudumbashree said “Bal Raksha Bharat has done exceptionally good work while part of the Emergency Response Programme in Kerala. We look forward to working together in building resilience among children of Kerala”.

The programme was attended by 3000 women across Alappuzha District where 55 construction unit toolkits and 7 nutrimix centres were supported by Bal Raksha Bharat as a part of the sustainable livelihoods programme.

Ms Bidisha Pillai, CEO, Bal Raksha Bharat said “We are honoured to have partnered with Kudumbashree and District Administration for the partnership and through this, we have been able to reach more than 16,000 households and 50,000 children in Kerala. It is a real pleasure to be here today and thank you all for the support extended”.
