Since 2004, Bal Raksha Bharat has been working in several states of India to help children get a happy childhood and a bright future.
We work in close coordination with government agencies at various levels – National, State and District – to run child welfare projects. We work with the aim to support and contribute towards Government of India’s vision to build a “Bharat” where children are well-nurtured, with full opportunities for growth and development in a safe and protective environment.
Presently, we have presence across 15 states and 3 Union Territories of India and have impacted the lives of more than 10 million children since 2008.

Bal Raksha Bharat, NGO operates on the ground in India across 15 states and 3 Union Territories. Our innovative programs cater to the special needs of children by providing them with a safe and healthy start, educational opportunities, and protection from harm. We are always among the first to react and the last to depart when a crisis arises.
We tackle the most difficult problems affecting the children who are most difficult to reach, by drawing from a century of unparalleled experience.
In addition to working with several government agencies, civil society organizations, and communities on a number of fundamental themes—Health and Nutrition, Education, Child Protection, Humanitarian Response, Disaster Risk Reduction, and Child Poverty—we also manage a number of programs throughout India.

Every child, regardless of identity or background, is entitled to quality learning opportunities from the time they start acquiring early learning skills at the age of 3 until they graduate at 18. Since 2004, millions of children have had their education sponsored by Bal Raksha Bharat through a number of state-level projects and national policy advocacy efforts. In order to meet the learning requirements of children, we provide an inclusive, egalitarian, and secure learning environment for children ages 3 to 18 so they can grow up to be active, meaningful adults.

This will help foster an education system rooted in Indian culture, contributing to transforming India, or Bharat, into an equitable and vibrant knowledge society over the long term. CONTRIBUTE TO THE EDUCATION OF INDIA’S UNDERPRIVILEGED CHILDREN.
In line with the objectives of the Indian government, we have developed a number of innovative, scalable, and sustainable solutions over the years that enable us to keep giving underprivileged children the gift of education.
Bal Raksha Bharat has worked on several programs over the years that address various forms of child abuse, including child labour, child marriage, child trafficking, sexual assault, and exploitation. Preventive and prompt action are the main focuses of our work in this field. Our work supports strong child protection systems, and we support the government in fortifying them at the local, state, and national levels, and track their effectiveness. In India, Bal Raksha Bharat has a track record of delivering and influencing important policy decisions, including the 2012 Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act, the Juvenile Justice Act, and the revision of the Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act.
