Mahavir Vatsalya Hospital in association with Bal Raksha Bharat and other agencies organized Free Health Camp and awareness generation mela to commemorate its 11th foundation day and inauguration of upgraded new-born and infant care unit.

The camp was inaugurated by Nitish Kumar, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Bihar. Sanjay Agarwal District Magistrate, Patna, R.K. Mahajan, Principal Secretary- Health, Manu Maharaj, SSP, Patna and Uday Sinha, Governing Body Chairman and retired Judge and other distinguished guests graced the occasion.

Nitish Kumar, CM, Bihar visited Bal Raksha Bharat’s stall at the health camp. Rafay Eajaz Hussain, General Manager, Bihar State Programme Office, along with members of state office shared details of Bal Raksha Bharat’s work on the issue of Child Marriage, Child Survival and Health and Child Rights. Also, how Bal Raksha Bharat is promoting Touch- B method as non- invasive technique for screening of anaemia among adolescents group, particularly girls at community level. He was explained how such user friendly methods can be path breaking option towards the larger goal of child and maternal survival.

Chief Minister shown his keen interest in our ongoing pursuance on the issue of child marriage and suggested as holistic approach Bal Raksha Bharat may also emphasise the ill effects of dowry and its linkages with child marriage. Bihar State Programme Office team also praised his initiatives and political commitment shown towards alcohol free state and now against dowry and child marriage and we expressed our commitment towards the issues of child marriage and hoped to contribute our bit towards any such initiatives taken by government in future as well.
