From Setback to Comeback: Reviving My Dream in a Government School

I am Sana, a Class XI student from Nellore district, and I want to share my story—a story of resilience, determination, and the power of support.

I was born into a humble family. My father runs a small grocery store, and my mother takes care of our home. I have always been passionate about my studies and dreamed of becoming a software engineer. My academic journey started at a popular private school, where I consistently ranked among the top students. I was known for my enthusiasm and hard work, and I pursued my dream with unwavering determination.

But life took an unexpected turn when my father had a severe accident. Suddenly, our family was plunged into a financial crisis. With mounting medical expenses and our primary source of income compromised, my parents could no longer afford my private school fees. My younger brother and I had to transfer to a government school. This change was too much for me to handle as I found myself in a new environment and challenges that seemed challenging.
Depression started to creep in as I grappled with the changes and the uncertainty of my future. I knew I had to keep pushing forward, not knowing what direction to take.

One day our school headmistress brought to us the Bal Raksha Bharat Team who came to introduce us to the SIEL project into my school. They said they were there to ensure quality education in government schools and help us to be at par with private schools.

This seemed like the happiest moment and a chance for me to revive my dreams, my future.
They recognized my potential and understood that I needed support to overcome the obstacles I was facing. Through their intervention, I was provided with remedial classes from Academic Support Fellows. These classes were a lifeline—they helped me prepare for my Class 10th board examinations and gave me the academic foundation I needed to succeed.

With the support I received and my determination to never give up, I managed to overcome my academic challenges. I not only passed my board exams but excelled, becoming the school topper in my Class 10th boards. This achievement restored my confidence and reminded me of what I am capable of. The quality education support I received from Bal Raksha Bharat and SIEL was a turning point in my life. It provided me with the tools and encouragement I needed to succeed

Looking back, I realize just how crucial that support was. As I reflect on my journey, I am filled with gratitude for the lifeline I received during my toughest times. It gave me hope and strength when I needed it the most. It showed me that no matter how difficult the circumstances, with the right support and determination, anything is possible.

Today, I am pursuing my Intermediate Course (Class XI) at a nearby Junior College. I am more determined than ever to achieve my dreams.
