How are we helping?
In the year 2018 Kerala faced a massive flood and subsequently there was huge devastation and loss of human lives. Bal Raksha Bharat (also Known as Save the Children India) in partnership with Kudumbashree supported the flood affected children and their families of Wayanad to build back their lives in multiple ways. This time also we are committed to support the affected children and their families to build back their homes and lives.
We plan to expand our relief response to 2,500 households.
We are also distributing hygiene kits and dignity kits to 1,000 women and adolescent girls, aiming to support 2,000 individuals. Additionally, education kits for children aged 3-6 years and 6-14 years are being provided, initially reaching 500 children each, with a goal to support 2,000 children in total. We are also setting up 10 Child-Friendly Spaces for children in the worst affected areas, so that children have a safe space as revival work starts. Psychosocial first aid is also being offered to children and their families at the very outset.
