Naresh Maisurwala is a 19-year-old champion from Mumbai and an ardent leader in his community. In the last 11 years, he has been associated with Salaam Baalak Trust and Bal Raksha Bharat.

His family was residing on the streets in south Mumbai. Naresh has two younger sisters and one younger brother. His mother was tirelessly working in odd jobs to earn bread and butter for her kids. This led to Naresh attending a daycare centre at Chowapatty led by Salam Balak Trust and later he was transferred to the residential care project. A few years ago, he lost his father and in the absence of his father and being the oldest child in the family Naresh decided to stay with his mother and work. He is currently working in a hotel and helping his mother.

Presently, Naresh is in 12th standard. Salaam Baalak Trust is supporting Naresh to complete his studies. He is ambitious and he would like to complete his studies to become financially independent for his family. His dreams are more than the work he does, and he has the potential to not only change his own life but the lives of those children around him.
