Helping Farida Begum’s and her six children: Floods 2017

Farida Begum, mother of six from a remote village of Bihar was a worried woman. She lost everything in the devastating flood that have affected more than 42 million people across Assam, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. The flood water had entered her house and destroyed it completely. Along with their house, the family also lost all their essentials- stocked ration, utensils, clothes, bed roll, live stocks etc. She had no place to live and her children were on the brink of starvation.
Bal Raksha Bharat provided Farida’s family with relief material: Food Basket and Family Tent. After receiving the relief material Farida said, “It’s not important what support we are expecting and what we are not able to receive, the important part is that we are receiving some support in this hour of need and even small help will bring big relief in our lives. I am very thankful for the support of dry ration and tent, now my children will get two square meals and will sleep safely in the tent”.
