Bal Raksha Bharat Partners with Amar Ujala
Sensitivity among duty bearers and men is the key to girl’s safety, suggested the panel members in a discussion anchored by Bal Raksha Bharat in partnership with Amar Ujala in the publication’s bureaus of Noida and Lucknow.
In a unique initiative, Bal Raksha Bharat partnered with Amar Ujala, a leading Hindi newspaper published from India for Samvad: a much-coveted discussion forum anchored by the publication that advocates for tangible outcomes for social issues. This partnership materialised under the ongoing #LightUpHerLife campaign.
This partnership led to widespread visibility and acknowledgment of the campaign and the issue on ground, on-air, and in various publications. The publication also collaborated for high-level discussions and debates on the subject of girl safety in their leading bureau offices.
The discussions were attended by representatives from ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) including Rakesh Tripathi and Shabnam Pandey, State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR) including Suchita Singh and Dr. Preeti Verma, Integrated Child Protection System (ICPS), juvenile law advocates, enforcement agencies, civil society organisations, academicians, media representatives working with multiple bureaus of Amar Ujala in Delhi, UP and NCR, Senior Superintendent of Police Noida, Vaibhav Krishna.
Pragya Vats, Lead Campaigns, and Prabhat Kumar, Lead Child Protection, represented Bal Raksha Bharat. Comprehensive action points emerged from the discussion with individual commitments towards ensuring illumination of dark spots to make girls feel safe in public spaces.
