“Determination is the key to overcome any obstacle,” as mentioned by Pavitra

At just 19 years old, Pavitra’s journey from a Pre-University Course (PUC) graduate to a financially independent young woman is truly inspiring. Living in a rented house with her father, Venkatesh, an auto driver, and her mother, Ammuda, a homemaker, Pavitra faced financial barriers that halted her education.

Through a friend’s WhatsApp group, Pavitra discovered Bal Raksha Bharat (BRB), an organization supporting youth with vocational training. She eagerly enrolled in a beautician course, seeing it as a path to gain professional skills and contribute financially to her family. This opportunity underscored the critical role of accessible vocational education in providing practical and sustainable employment paths for young individuals.

Pavitra’s enrollment at the BRB training center was a turning point. The center not only offered lessons in beauty but also taught valuable workplace skills. BRB ensured that individuals were equipped to handle the dynamic challenges of the workplace. Pavitra’s experience highlights the center’s role in empowering individuals with the skills needed to thrive in today’s competitive environment.

Upon successfully completing the beautician course, Pavitra secured employment at a high-tech beauty parlor. This job marked a significant step towards her financial independence. With a steady income, she is now contributing to her personal and family expenses. Her foresight to invest in a recurring deposit showcases her smart approach to securing a stable financial future.

Pavitra’s journey is an inspiring example of how determination, opportunity, and support can lead to personal and financial empowerment. Her story shines a light on the importance of organizations like Bal Raksha Bharat in empowering youth, especially women, to become self-reliant and support their families.

The Skill India Mission, recognized by the Government of India was launched with the aim of empowering the Indian workforce with the necessary skills to make them employable and self-reliant. The mission was launched with the objective of creating a pool of skilled workers who could contribute to the economic growth of the country. Since its launch, the Skill India Mission with focus on skill development of youth, industry relevant curriculum, job placement assistance with special emphasis on youth entrepreneurship is a huge popular scheme among youth across India.

This collaboration is contributing to the government’s mission to build a skilled nation by empowering youth and making them ready for financial independence by breaking the shackles of poverty.
