WORK – NO CHILD’S BUSINESS
Every child is supposed to have the right to education and a future of a dignified occupation. But unfortunately for children who are forced to earn a living from as early as 5 years of age, such a future does not exist. For children 5-17 years of age who are engaged in or at high risk of child labour, an intervention is required within their communities to propel them towards a better life. Conducted in Delhi, Bihar and Rajasthan, this programme ran counselling sessions, health check-ups, life-skills education, and supported child labourers in claiming legal entitlements including Aadhar, birth certificates etc. Skills development and vocational training is also a part of this programme to encourage a future of dignified labour for these children. We aim at breaking intergenerational poverty and provide these kids with a glimmer of hope to break through their bleak destiny.
