Dharali Uttarkashi Flash Flood

On 5th August 2025, a massive cloudburst over the Kheer Ganga catchment triggered twin flash floods that devastated the villages of Dharali and Sukhi Top in Uttarkashi district, Uttarakhand. In just minutes, homes, markets, and lives were washed away.

Over 100 people are missing, and at least 5 lives have been lost. Entire villages are cut off, with roads, bridges, communication lines, and power supply destroyed. Families are stranded without food, water and shelter. Children are scared, displaced, and vulnerable.

The Reality on Ground

Families are homeless. Children are hungry and scared.

🚨 Families are displaced – People have been evacuated from their homes. They are living in temporary shelters with limited supply.

👧 Children are at risk – They need immediate protection, food, and safe spaces to recover from trauma.

🏚️ Crops have been destroyed – Farmlands have submerged, destroying the livelihood of farming families.

🛑 Clean drinking water is scarce – Families are struggling with basic hygiene and sanitation.

As per the Indian Income Tax Department’s rules, a donor is required to add their address and PAN number in case they wish to receive the 80G tax-exemption certificate
