YOUNG CAMPAIGNERS IN ACTION
Piloting the Young campaigners programme
To Pilot the programme Bal Raksha Bharat has joined hands with MASH Project Foundation to facilitate college activations and discussions across 8 colleges in 4 cities – Delhi/NCR, Mumbai, Kolkata and Bengaluru with an aim to reach out to 80,000 young people
The pilot phase kicked-off with an introductory workshop on understanding the importance youth in climate action, followed by eight weeks of virtual skilling-building sessions and experiential volunteering engagements.
By the end of the pilot phase the programme aims to build a caucus of dedicated young change-makers from across the country working collaboratively to steer change around them and lead by example!

Meet the Youth Advisory
Anshul is a social entrepreneur and the Founder of Youth Ki Awaaz, India’s largest media platform for young people to speak up and create an impact. He has worked across media, technology and citizen advocacy to build and scale community driven models of social change. Anshul is an Ashoka Fellow for social entrepreneurship and was named a Young Innovator by the United Nations ITU in 2012.
He was also named a Forbes 30 Under 30 media influencer in 2018. He also serves on the UN Women Civil Society Advisory Group for
South Asia.
Kevin spends his time at work trying to make important things interesting for young people. He is the Editor in Chief at Yuvaa, where he has created and led campaigns related to social issues for brands like Meta, Tinder, and Fastrack, and organisations like UNICEF, Bal Raksha Bharat, Dasra and Purpose. He is also the Executive Producer of Dear Teenage Me, a Spotify Original podcast that addresses Gen Z issues, a Founding Member of the Misinformation Combat Alliance, and host of SocialLee Distant, a show that pokes fun at the mainstream media. Kevin enjoys playing video games, watching Marvel movies and other pastimes which let him delude himself into thinking he is still young at heart.
Anandamayee is a NUNV Youth Engagement Officer for YuWaah, UNICEF and a writer. She has a BA in English and Gender Studies from UCLA and strongly grounds her approach in intersectional feminism. She is a published author and has founded a literary collective called In The Margins to spotlight the voices and narratives of marginalised identities across the world. She has previously written for publications like Times of India and FirstPost, and BrainGain. As the Youth Engagement Officer, Anandamayee facilitates the leadership journey of YuWaah's youth advisory and assists with key partnerships within Civic Engagement for young people. In her free time, Anandamayee enjoys baking, hiking, and playing the piano.
Aashish Beergi is the founder and CEO of MASH Project Foundation (MASH), an award-winning social enterprise which is building an eco-system for social impact. Aashish has been a British Council - Global Changemaker (London), Official Indian Delegate to the BRICS Youth Summit (India), UNESCO Youth Forum (Paris), International Youth Forum – (Russia). His enterprise, MASH was conferred with Goalkeepers Global Goals Award by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, USA in 2020 for its work on UN Sustainable Development Goals. Aashish’s passion is to empower and upskill young people to drive change by providing them with access to the right network, the right opportunities, and the right technologies.
Japleen smashes patriarchy for a living. She is the founder & editor-in-chief of Feminism in India, an award-winning digital bilingual feminist media platform. She is an Acumen India fellow, a TEDx speaker, a Rise Up Youth Champion, Swedish Institute alumni and a WSA Young Innovator. She has been recognised by the German, Swedish and Indian governments for her work on gender. Currently, Japleen oversees the strategic vision and growth at FII. She likes to garden, travel, hike, swim and cycle and is slowly moving towards a sustainable lifestyle.
Bal Raksha Bharat (also known as Save the Children) is currently working in 15 states and 3 Union Territories of India, to catalyse immediate and lasting change for children.
As Save the Children, we provided relief during the famine and floods faced by Bengal in 1950s, collaborated with Indian government to provide mobile nutrition clinics across 9 Indian states as part of the global Freedom from Hunger campaign in 1960s. In 1970s our first office was set up in Delhi and we provided relief for Divi Seema Cyclone and Tidal Wave in Andhra Pradesh. In 1980s we launched 40 projects across the country on pre-school programmes, food and medical care, mother and child health and in 1990s we deepened our work on education and child protection. In 2000 we mounted the Tsunami cyclone response.
Established in 1919, Bal Raksha Bharat is one of the largest independent child rights organisations that works in over 110 countries to ensure that all children learn, survive and are protected.
In India, with a presence in 18 states, we are a leading independent child rights organisation and have changed the lives of more than 14 million children in the last 13 years.
In a world where millions of children are denied their rights because of who they are or where they live, we aim to put the most deprived and marginalised children first, and tackle the barriers to their survival, learning and protection.
