Help Bruised Passports Build a STEM Lab for Girl Students, Gift them a Brighter Future

“We will leave the world better than we found it” is the mantra which drives Bruised Passports: Savi and Vid, India’s most-loved travel storytellers.

The duo has joined hands with Bal Raksha Bharat to support the education of girl children. Together we’ll be setting up a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Lab in a Delhi school to support scientific learning of girl children, help them expand their horizons and tap opportunities to build a better future.

As per the Indian Income Tax Department’s rules, a donor is required to add their address and PAN number in case they wish to receive the 80G tax-exemption certificate

“We have both been working towards supporting children’s education for years now. For the past three years, we have built computer labs in schools in rural India in order to spread digital education to children and their communities who might not have access to it otherwise. We also asked you to contribute – and together ALL OF US built these labs. Every single rupee went towards buying equipment and within weeks labs were set up.”

This time we wanted to do something even BIGGER. We are excited to collaborate with Bal Raksha Bharat, one of India’s leading NGOs working to improve children’s lives holistically; with their support, we are building a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Lab in a Government Girls Senior Secondary School in Delhi. This lab will address the learning needs of girl children in the areas of science and mathematics and help foster a scientific spirit in them. Bal Raksha Bharat has set up STEM labs in 722 schools across Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Jammu & Kashmir, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and Telangana. It has emerged as a successful model to ensure that students are exposed to Math, Science, and Technology in their early years. The STEM lab you help establish will mean the opening up of a world of opportunities for these girls to dream big and go on to become scientists, engineers and doctors and script new success stories, for themselves, for their community and their country.

It’s a small contribution towards helping build an India where no girl is left behind.

Every single rupee you donate goes towards supporting this initiative. We will take lots of photos of the finished lab so you can see exactly where your donations go.

Let us all come together for building a better future for the next generation. And there cannot be a better gift to them than the gift of EDUCATION.

About
STEM Labs

STEM labs help in educating students in four specific disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and other related branches that fall under these four disciplines. STEM is associated with the practices to create a child-centred learning environment in which children investigate and find solutions to problems and construct evidence-based explanations of real-world phenomena with a focus on their own academic and social needs.

Under the STEM Lab setup, various Science and Math models, some latest devices and experimental kits will be provided at the schools so that students can learn through a collaborative practical approach. This STEM Lab is in line with the National Curriculum Framework (as per NCERT Curriculum and/or State Board curriculum). The idea of the laboratory is to help class 6 – 10 students imbibe creativity; stimulate their inquisitiveness and promote adoption of innovative approaches. A set of 80 items would be provided, including models for Inertia of Motion, Step Pendulum, Gyroscope, Tuning Fork, Doppler and others. See Full List Here

Bal Raksha Bharat has set up numerous STEM labs in Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan and West Bengal to help improve children’s learning in the disciplines of Science and Mathematics.
