Building blocks for the right start

Bal Raksha Bharat promotes responsive care-giving and play-based learning practices for children aged 3-8 years both at state and national levels with special attention in Delhi and Maharashtra. This exercise will help communities combat COVID-19 through the provision of educational kits and play materials, which will also guide parents and caregivers on hygiene and responsive caregiving. This initiative will also improve access to quality pre-school education through the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) and pre-school Centres when they re-open. However, at the moment, it will concentrate on developing the faculty of pre-school Anganwadi Workers (AWWs), Anganwadi Helpers (AWHs), and ICDS functionaries to support the advancement and school-readiness among young children.
