HAPPY CHILDHOOD FROM BRICK KILN TO SCHOOL
It is a sad reality that due to circumstances surrounding their childhood, many children do not get to ever experience it. Children from extremely marginalised backgrounds like migrant families are often not even aware of the importance of education. We believe that by investing in these crucial years, we can build a future very different from the ones these kids feel predestined to. This project was conducted in the brick kilns of North 24 Parganas and Malda in West Bengal. Conducted for a year from April 2019 to March 2020, this project targeted all the people who affected a child’s environment in brick kilns in this region from Anganwadi mothers groups and workers to Brick kiln owners, and of course, the children and parents. The impact that programs like this can create on children by building their intellectual curiosity and social competencies can be truly life changing.
