PROJECT: SAMUDAYA ABHIVRUDDHI
Many young people have limited access to legal entitlements and neither do they have the opportunity for skill development leading to them being associated with hazardous forms of labour and the exploitation associated with it. These factors are key in contributing to inter-generational poverty. Through this project we intend to develop a holistic approach through community development to provide the youth with dignified and safe livelihood opportunities. In the Kolar district of Karnataka, this project was conducted from June 2017 to April 2020. We aimed this at poor and marginalized women, women or adolescent headed families, single women, children with single parents as well as differently abled youth apart from schools and local communities. Promoting micro enterprises and offering vocational training were supplemented with community awareness and hygiene awareness to create a module for holistic change in their lifestyle.
