From Adversity to Achievement- Zeba’s Journey to Entrepreneurship

Zeba Parveen’s journey from a small, cramped rented room to an entrepreneur is nothing short of inspiration. Zeba and her family found themselves in a challenging situation, with a family size of seven members residing in the capital of India. From humble beginnings to emerging as a successful entrepreneur, Zeba’s story epitomizes the triumph of the human spirit against all odds.

At the tender age of 20, this youth, found herself thrust into a challenging situation, with a family of seven to support and a father earning a modest income from tailoring work. The financial strain was palpable, aggravated by the unpredictability of salary cuts and the constant struggle to make ends meet.

Undeterred by adversity, Zeba embarked on a quest to alleviate her family’s financial burdens. Learning tailoring from her father, she initially earned little through manual stitching but harbored aspirations for greater heights. Her dream of transcending manual labor, however, faced obstacles, with inconsistent access to sewing machines and a lack of financial resources hindering her progress.

Amidst these challenges, fate intervened in the form of Bal Raksha Bharat’s mobilization drive. Recognizing Zeba’s entrepreneurial spirit, a BRB team member introduced her to the Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP), kindling a spark of hope in her life. Embracing the opportunity, Zeba enrolled in both the Life Skill Education and EDP training programs, setting her on a path of transformation.

The newfound skills and determination instilled during the training sessions breathed new life into Zeba’s aspirations. Equipped with the knowledge to start her tailoring business from home. This enabled her to took the leap with her father’s untiring support.

Despite the initial challenges, Zeba’s perseverance paid off, with her expanding business and her income soaring. Within just a month, she earned an impressive sum, contributing not only to her own financial stability but also to her family’s well-being.

Zeba’s success reverberates beyond her own achievements, serving as a beacon of hope for others facing similar struggles. Her gratitude towards Bal Raksha Bharat knows no bounds, acknowledging the pivotal role the organization played in her transformation.

In her own words, Zeba reflects on her journey, stating, “My goal was to improve our financial situation, and thanks to the help of Bal Raksha Bharat, I’ve been able to turn that dream into reality. I am now able to support my family.”

The Skill India Mission is a flagship program implemented by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India with the aim of empowering the country’s youth by providing them with skills and training to enhance their employability.
