LEARNING SHOULD NEVER STOP, NO CHILD SHOULD LAG BEHIND
Every child deserves a fair chance in life and that can come when they get access to quality education. Education gives children the skills and knowledge necessary to carve a better future for themselves. It helps to eradicate various social evils that prevail in a society such as poverty, gender discrimination, racism, and child labour.
Bal Raksha Bharat (globally known as Save the Children) works relentlessly to help educate and empower the marginalised children of India. Our work revolves around ensuring that children in need have improved access to equitable, safe and quality learning environment in our intervention areas. We work across 16 states with children, teachers, caregivers, parents, communities, and government representatives to help improve children’s learning. We also work towards helping those children continue their schooling who dropped out of school for some reason.
Last year, in 2022, we reached over 3.30 lakh children through our education programmes. We work in consultation and collaboration with government authorities at various levels, ensuring that children benefit from government’s welfare schemes on education and skill building.
We need your support to help more children get quality education.
Your contribution can help us prevent children from dropping out of school and continue their education.

HOW YOUR SUPPORT PUTS CHILDREN ON THE PATH OF LEARNING
-
PROVIDE TEACHING-LEARNING MATERIAL
We provide learning kits and modules which can be used by parents to impart elementary level education to children. This helps in ensuring learning continuity if children have to drop out or during pandemic times.
-
CHILD-FRIENDLY LEARNING
CENTRESWe set up and run Multi Activity Centres in various parts of India which cater to the learning needs of vulnerable children. These centres also provide vocational support to older children. At the same time, in several urban slums in metro cities, we operate Mobile Learning Centres – a bus transformed into a classroom, bringing education to the doorsteps of children in need.
-
IMPROVE SCHOOL INFRASTRUCTUREWe work to improve the infrastructure of classrooms in schools, making them more attractive. This is done through renovating classrooms, making educational wall paintings, constructing toilets, stocking libraries with books and other such measures.
-
BUILDING SMART CLASSROOMSThis intervention aims at improving learning outcomes through encouraging innovative technology-based pedagogy and enhance education at primary schools by maximising the utilisation of Information Communication Technology (ICT) and STEM approach to provide an experiential learning to the students for understanding about the concepts on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. This is done by enhancing teacher capacities and creating child- and leaner-friendly environment for children
