Trek for Children

The Initiative

“The children and youth are the future and they deserve the best of knowledge and empowerment to be future-ready”, says Debjyoti Mukherjee – fondly known as Deb among friends, family and well-wishers. A seasoned entrepreneur, a veteran engineer, arduous management graduate, a distinct arbitrator and an avid trekker and a global traveller, Deb is doing the uphill and strenuous Goechala trek in Sikkim, at an altitude of 16,000+ feet.

As he treks along a difficult terrain amid harsh weather, he is utilizing this initiative to raise awareness and resources to support Bal Raksha Bharat’s project on girls and women empowerment in Odisha.

As per the Indian Income Tax Department’s rules, a donor is required to add their address and PAN number in case they wish to receive the 80G tax-exemption certificate

Appeal from Mr Debjyoti Mukherjee

“Hi, I am Debjyoti Mukherjee from West Bengal, I am now an entrepreneur based in Qatar. I am a mountaineer at heart, having undertaken numerous treks and mountain climbing missions. This March, I will be doing the Goechala Trek. This trek is really special to me as I am raising resources to support an important cause: the empowerment of 400 adolescent girls and young women in Odisha on Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights, enabling them to lead a healthier life along with building the capacity of 30 healthcare providers. I will be supporting India’s most trusted child care organization: Bal Raksha Bharat (also known as Save the Children) for this purpose.”

“I urge you to join me in this noble cause of women empowerment by making a contribution. All donations received will go towards supporting and sustaining Bal Raksha Bharat’s project and donors are also eligible for tax-exemption. Let’s do this, together. Join me in the ‘Trek for Empowerment'”.

“Let’s support the cause of women empowerment. This is your chance to give back to the society. Let’s do this together, for every bit counts.”
